Regular Season Round 5: Dinamo - ATSU 120-63

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo (#6) and ATSU (#5). Dinamo (1-4) crushed visiting ATSU (0-5) by 57 points 120-63. Dinamo forced 19 ATSU turnovers and had a 40-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American Antonio Alcorn (-1996) nailed 53 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and center Valerian Tsuleiskiri (202-1999) accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Rati Nutsubidze (205-1997) came up with 22 points and 8 rebounds and center Otar Gabekhadze (195-2001) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for ATSU in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dinamo left bottom position moving up to fifth place. It was ATSU's fifth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Dinamo will meet league's leader Iverioni in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ATSU will play against the league's second-placed Orbi (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
