Very predictable result when fifth ranked Tromso (16-9) rolled over at home bottom-ranked Nidaros Jets (2-24) 97-72 on Sunday. Tromso dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Nidaros Jets' 40 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Tromso forced 21 Nidaros Jets turnovers and outrebounded them 44-25 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Canadian center Cole Long (201, college: Detroit) notched 29 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Johannes Lange (182-1998) supported him with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Tromso players scored in double figures. Tromso's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists by forward Jakob Baiden (194-1993) did not help to save the game for Nidaros Jets. Point guard Mikkel Aarnes (184-2000) added 20 points and 7 rebounds. Tromso have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Froya Basket. Nidaros Jets lost sixteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Tromso will meet Froya Basket (#5) in the next round. Nidaros Jets will play against the league's leader Kongsberg (#1) and hope to secure a win.
