Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Torta del Casar (6-9) lost to top-ranked Huelva CD (15-0) in Caceres 74-82 on Sunday. Huelva CD dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Torta del Casar's 24. Forward Federico Ristori (194-1996) notched 20 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Fran Cardenas (177-1990) supported him with 14 points and 4 assists. Four Huelva CD players scored in double figures. Huelva CD's coach Pedro Vadillo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Puerto Rican point guard Douglas Mills (188-1990) did not help to save the game for Torta del Casar. Naturalized British David Sainsbury (202-1994) added 11 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Huelva CD have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-0 record, which they share with Real Madrid 2. Loser Torta del Casar keeps the eighth place with nine games lost. Huelva CD will meet Gymnastica (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Torta del Casar will play against the league's second-placed Huelva Com. and hope to secure a win.
