There was no surprise in Kouvola where 6th ranked Kotka (12-15) was defeated by fourth ranked Kouvot (14-13) 97-83 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 48-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Kouvot dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Kotka's 48. American guard Austin Butler (196, college: Charlotte) stepped up and scored 30 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward John Meeks (198-1999, college: Charleston) chipped in 27 points and 10 rebounds.
