Regular Season Round 29: Kalmar - Norrkoping 71-106

Very expected game when 10th ranked Kalmar (4-22) was crushed at home by third ranked Norrkoping (18-7) 106-71 on Tuesday. Norrkoping outrebounded Kalmar 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Marcus Tyus (185-1994, college: Omaha) who scored 24 points and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international Nathan Dawit (192-1994, agency: Players Group) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Five Norrkoping players scored in double figures. Norrkoping's coach Mikko Riipinen felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-1989) produced 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Hannes Widell (183-1994) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Defending champion maintains third place with 18-7 record having just two points less than leader Boras. Kalmar lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 22 games lost. Norrkoping will meet at home league's leader Boras in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kalmar will have a break next round.
