There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Lyon (11-14) edged on the road 7th ranked Besancon (12-13) 82-80 on Tuesday. Guard Romain Parmentelot (190-2004) nailed 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Bahamas Aaron Levarity (203-1997, college: Milligan) accounted for 15 points and 14 rebounds. American Mykal Riley (198-1985, college: Alabama) came up with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international center Ferdinand Prenom (204-1991) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Besancon in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lyon maintains ninth place with 11-14 record. Besancon lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Rueil and Challans. Lyon will meet at home league's second-placed Orchesien BC in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Besancon will play against Feurs CTC (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
