There was no surprise in Ostersund where 5th ranked BC Lulea (15-11) was defeated by second ranked Jamtland (21-5) 90-77 on Friday. Jamtland dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to BC Lulea's 32. They outrebounded BC Lulea 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. American guard Landrius Horton (193-1998, college: Columbus St.) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Amir Smith (200-1997, college: Hampton) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. Jamtland's coach Adnan Cuk used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American Darrell Davis (196-1996, college: Dayton) with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Jonatan Arvidsson (184-1998, college: E.Wyoming) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jamtland have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-5 record behind leader Boras. Loser BC Lulea keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. Jamtland will meet Nassjo (#6) on the road in the next round. BC Lulea will play against Uppsala and hope to secure a win.
