Regular Season Round 18: ToPo Juniorit - Raiders Basket 86-96 OT

Raiders Basket (5-12) outlasted ToPo Juniorit (10-8) in overtime by ten points 96-86 on Friday night. The game took place in Helsinki. But the guests from Jarvenpaa were better at the end. The game was mostly controlled by Raiders Basket. ToPo Juniorit managed to win fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where ToPo Juniorit used huge pressure winning it 23-21 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 5-15. Raiders Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to ToPo Juniorit's 38. Raiders Basket forced 24 ToPo Juniorit turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Jordan Perkins (185-1998, college: Longwood) who had a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds, 22 assists and 5 steals. The other American import forward Devaughn Jenkins (201-1995, college: Angelo St.) chipped in 24 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Eldar Skamo (198-1986) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Leo Nordberg (185-2004) added 24 points and 5 assists respectively. Five Raiders Basket and four ToPo Juniorit players scored in double figures. Raiders Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place. Loser ToPo Juniorit dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Raiders Basket will meet at home higher ranked Oulun Bball (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ToPo Juniorit will play against the league's leader Bisons where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
