Regular Season Round 21: Palencia - Alicante 87-79

Leader Palencia delivered the twentieth victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Alicante (13-8) 87-79. It was a good game for American forward Tanner McGrew (203-1993, college: WVWC) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Alec Wintering (183-1995, college: Portland) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Lithuanian Osvaldas Matulionis (200-1991) answered with 16 points and power forward Eduard Gatell (206-1989) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Alicante. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Palencia have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Palencia maintains first place with 20-2 record. Alicante at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Burgos. Palencia will play against league's second-placed Andorra on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alicante will play against Burgos (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
