There was no surprise when 13th ranked Les Sables (8-18) was defeated on the road by second ranked Union Rennes (19-7) 75-71 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Union Rennes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Sebastien Cape (185-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Guinean forward Cheick Sekou-Conde (203-1992) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Union Rennes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized Iranian swingman Navide Niktash (203-1991, agency: BIG) produced 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Lithuanian guard Kevin Cham (185-1998) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Four Les Sables players scored in double figures. Union Rennes have a solid three-game winning streak. Union Rennes keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Chartres and Loon-Plage. Loser Les Sables keeps the thirteenth place with 18 games lost.
