Regular Season Round 23: Miedzychod - Siechnice 87-67

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Siechnice (5-19) was crushed on the road by first ranked Miedzychod (22-2) 87-67 on Saturday. Miedzychod forced 24 Siechnice turnovers. Strangely Siechnice outrebounded Miedzychod 48-34 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Miedzychod made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Marcin Wrobel (200-1987) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Point guard Damian Szymczak (186-1995) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Miedzychod players scored in double figures. Swingman Kamil Karlinski (190-1998) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and guard Damian Oswald (188-1990) scored 23 points. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Miedzychod maintains first place with 22-2 record. Siechnice lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Tychy 2. Miedzychod will meet league's second-placed Prudnik on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Siechnice will play against Gimbasket (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
