Regular Season Round 19: Alpo - Bolzano BC 75-55

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Bolzano BC (7-12) was outscored by eleventh ranked Alpo (7-12) in Verona 75-55 on Saturday. Alpo outrebounded Bolzano BC 50-30 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for guard Elisa Mancinelli (177-1993) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Serena Soglia (185-2000) accounted for 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Alpo players scored in double figures. Power forward Giorgia Assentato (176-1999) came up with 14 points and Elena Vella (175-2000) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Bolzano BC in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alpo moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Bolzano BC and Trieste. Bolzano BC lost their third game in a row. Alpo will meet higher ranked Costa Masnaga (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bolzano BC will play against Vicenza (#14) and hope to secure a win.
