Regular Season Round 23: Energa W-wa - Isetia W-wa 81-76

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Warszawa: Energa W-wa (#2) and Isetia W-wa (#8). Despite it looked like an easy game for Energa W-wa, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Guest Isetia W-wa challenged much higher ranked Energa W-wa giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by five points 81-76. Energa W-wa outrebounded Isetia W-wa 37-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Energa W-wa made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Karol Debski (198-1984) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Mateusz Gorka (190-1999) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. Swingman Michal Wojtynski (193-1989) produced 20 points and 5 assists and point guard Jan Grzelinski (180-1994, college: Canisius) added 10 points and 12 assists respectively for the guests. Four Isetia W-wa players scored in double figures. Isetia W-wa's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Energa W-wa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 19-3 record behind leader AZS AWF Mick. Isetia W-wa at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Legionowo. Energa W-wa are looking forward to face Lublin (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Isetia W-wa will play against Ostrow Mazow. (#9) in Ostrow Mazowiecki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
