Regular Season Round 11: Partizani - Tirana 49-81

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tirana: Tirana (#2) and Partizani (#3). Partizani was crushed at home by 32 points 49-81 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Partizani. Tirana forced 19 Partizani turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international guard Aida Palko (176-1984) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. American forward Breana Bey (175-1995, college: Stetson, agency: IceBasket) helped adding 16 points and 11 rebounds. Five Tirana players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Ornela Lalaj (173-1994) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Jomyra Mathis (173, college: New Orleans) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Partizani's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Tirana have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-1 record behind leader Flamurtari. Partizani at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Tirana are looking forward to face Vllaznia (#4) in Shkodra in the next round. Partizani's supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tirana Berleti.
