No shocking result in a game when second ranked Gijon (15-3) outleveled at home 12th ranked Estrada (4-14) 79-58 on Saturday. Gijon dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Estrada's 18. Gijon forced 22 Estrada turnovers. Montenegrin power forward Milo Vukcevic (200-1996) fired 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Alan Morchon (188-1999) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Guard Fernando Bello (198-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Juan Blanco (189-2000) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gijon have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-3 record having just three points less than leader Huelva CD, which they share with Mataro UE. Newly promoted Estrada dropped to the eleventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Begastri and La Flecha. Gijon will meet league's leader Chantada on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Estrada will play against Covadonga (#14) and hope to secure a win.
