Regular Season Round 19: Oppsal - Nidaros Jets 93-70

Everything went according to plan in Oslo where ninth ranked Oppsal (7-20) outscored bottom-ranked Nidaros Jets (2-26) 93-70 on Saturday. Oppsal dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Nidaros Jets' 30. They outrebounded Nidaros Jets 43-20 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Jacob Tryon (211-1998, college: Samford) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks for the winners. Guard Thomas Ble (185-1989) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Ble is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Oppsal players scored in double figures. Oppsal's coach Jarl Jespersen felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Mikkel Aarnes (184-2000) produced 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Jakob Baiden (194-1993) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Oppsal maintains ninth place with 7-20 record. Nidaros Jets lost their eighteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Oppsal will meet at home higher ranked Froya Basket (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nidaros Jets will play against Asker Aliens (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
