Regular Season Round 8: Alvik - East Ball 53-40

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Latvian East Ball (4-6) lost to second ranked Swedish Alvik (9-1) in Stockholm 40-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alvik. East Ball managed to win second period 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding East Ball to just 6 points in first quarter. The winners were led by Walter Musanovic who scored that evening 10 points and 9 rebounds and forward Adam Lindahl supported him with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Even 12 points and 9 rebounds by forward Raitis Spels (196-2006) did not help to save the game for East Ball. Forward Patriks Plumins (-2007) added 12 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvik have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-1 record behind leader Marijampole. East Ball lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with six games lost.
