Very important is a road loss of second ranked Guadalajara (12-5) against eighth ranked Valsequillo (8-9) on Saturday night. Visiting Guadalajara was defeated by Valsequillo in Valsequillo 85-72. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Italian swingman Maximiliano Pellegrino (193-1987) fired 27 points for the winners. Forward Gabriel Bolanos (195-1992) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Valsequillo players scored in double figures. Venezuelan power forward Luis Valera (202-1988, college: UTRGV) produced 22 points and 8 rebounds and Dutch guard Yoeri Hoexum (188-1999) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Valsequillo maintains eighth place with 8-9 record, which they share with Aridane and Guimar. Loser Guadalajara dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Daimiel. Valsequillo will meet Pinto Basket (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Guadalajara will play against La Matanza (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
