Regular Season Round 16: Medvescak - Pula 83-60

Very expected game when 8th ranked Pula (5-11) was smashed by fourth ranked Medvescak (13-3) in Zagreb 83-60 on Saturday. Medvescak forced 25 Pula turnovers. The winners were led by the former international forward Andjela Strize (175-1999) who scored that evening 25 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and guard Ivona Jakovljevic (172-2004) supported her with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Five Medvescak players scored in double figures. Coach Iva Borovic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 22 points and 19 rebounds by forward Marijana Percan (186-1993) did not help to save the game for Pula. The former international Ivana Ujevic (176-2000) added 16 points and 5 assists for lost side. Medvescak have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Zagreb and Tresnjevka. Pula lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Pozega. Medvescak will meet Split (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pula will play against Sibenik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
