Regular Season Round 16: Ragusa - Brod na Savi 101-58

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ragusa as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ragusa smashed 6th ranked Brod na Savi in Dubrovnik 101-58. Ragusa dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Brod na Savi's 20. Ragusa forced 26 Brod na Savi turnovers and outrebounded them 47-25 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Brod na Savi's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Iva Todoric (174-1993) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and the former international guard Lina Strilic (174-2003) who added 22 points, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Ragusa players scored in double figures. Ragusa's coach Cvetana Matic felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Petra Simunic (-1993) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and guard Andrea Stankovic (172-2006) scored 16 points. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Brod na Savi at the other side dropped to the seventh place with ten games lost. Brod na Savi will play next round against KAZL Split trying to get back on the winning streak. Ragusa will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Orka at Zagreb.
