There was an upset when higher ranked San Martino (8-12) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Valdarno (3-17) 70-59 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian guard Madeleine Garrick (180-1992) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian-Hungarian forward Tijana Krivacevic (196-1990) who added 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Valdarno's coach Alberto Matassini used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Ilaria Milazzo (173-1994) responded with 20 points and Polish center Agnieszka Kaczmarczyk (188-1989) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Newly promoted Valdarno maintains thirteenth position with 3-17 record. San Martino lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. Valdarno will meet at home higher ranked Venezia (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. San Martino will play against Crema (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
