Regular Season Round 19: Fyllingen - Asker Aliens 144-68

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Fyllingen (18-8) outleveled at home 10th ranked Asker Aliens (5-22) 144-68 on Sunday. Fyllingen dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Asker Aliens' 40. Fyllingen forced 33 Asker Aliens turnovers and outrebounded them 41-24 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Fyllingen looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Asker Aliens' players. American forward Devin Gilligan (196-1993, college: SNHU) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals (on 16-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Atle Ndiaye (200-1992) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Five Fyllingen players scored in double figures. Fyllingen's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Abdullah Yusuf (188, college: Fredonia St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and forward Jorgen Kjesbu (198-2000) added 20 points respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fyllingen. They maintain third place with 18-8 record having four points less than leader Kongsberg. Asker Aliens lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 22 games lost. Fyllingen will meet Baerum Basket (#6) in the next round. Asker Aliens will play against Nidaros Jets (#11) in Tromdheim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
