There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Leganes (7-14) defeated at home 12th ranked Ensino (9-13) 78-74 on Sunday. They outrebounded Ensino 49-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Cecilia Muhate (188-1997, college: Ole Miss) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Vionise Pierre-Louis (193-1995, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Alba Prieto (180-1999, college: S.Florida) who recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Lydia Giomi (198-1997, college: Oregon) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ensino's coach Antonio Pernas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Leganes moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Jairis. Ensino at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Cadi La Seu. Leganes will meet at home higher ranked Gernika (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ensino will play against Bembibre (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
