Regular Season Round 18: HyPo - PeU-Basket 93-88

Very important is a road loss of third ranked PeU-Basket (12-6) against seventh ranked HyPo (11-7) on Sunday night. Visiting PeU-Basket was defeated by HyPo in a tough game in Hyvinkaa 88-93. PeU-Basket was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 30-23 charge of HyPo, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to PeU-Basket's 40. American forward Arinze Obiora (196-1997, college: UMass Dartmouth) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Jimi Viita (180-2005) chipped in 16 points, 8 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Obiora is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four HyPo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Ladavius Draine (193, college: Tulsa) with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Patrik Poutiainen (198-2001) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. HyPo moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Pantterit and Ura Basket. PeU-Basket at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. HyPo will play against Karkkila (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. PeU-Basket will play against Raholan P. (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
