There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Borgomanero (5-15) edged at home 12th ranked Casale Libertas (8-12) 74-71 on Sunday. The winners were led by forward Andrea Cecchi (196-2005) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and guard Alberto Fragonara (186-2004) supported him with 16 points. Four Borgomanero players scored in double figures. Borgomanero's coach Stefano Di Cerbo used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 12 points and 7 rebounds by swingman Valerio Staffieri (196-1992) did not help to save the game for Casale Libertas. Point guard Manuel Saladini (182-2002, agency: SLN) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Borgomanero maintains fourteenth position with 5-15 record. Newly promoted Casale Libertas dropped to the eleventh place with 12 games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams.
