Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Stockholm: Djurgarden (#1) and Hammarby (#6). Hammarby was crushed at home by 17 points 71-88 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Djurgarden forced 21 Hammarby turnovers. Strangely Hammarby outrebounded Djurgarden 54-39 including 17 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Hammarby was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Niklas Herring (182-1999) who led the winners and scored 29 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Egal Saleman (201-1988) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Four Djurgarden players scored in double figures. Emil Rudman (-2003) came up with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and German Pirmin Gaisser (194-2000) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Hammarby in the defeat. Hammarby's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Djurgarden (16-0) have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 16 victories in a row. Hammarby lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with AIK 2. Djurgarden will play against league's second-placed Malbas in Malmo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hammarby will play at home against Marbo (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
