Giants B used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Brussels 85-81 on Sunday night. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Giants B made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Quinten Smout (194) notched 24 points to lead the effort and forward Vince Van Cleemput (198-2002) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Even 28 points and 9 rebounds by forward Amaury Marion (196-1991) did not help to save the game for Royal Brussels. Point guard Rochdi Benzouien (181-1996) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Giants B will meet at home Ieper in the next round. Royal Brussels will play against Melsele and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
