Everything went according to plan in Riga where first ranked Latvian RSU (13-1) outscored 9th ranked Lithuanian Siauliai (6-11) 78-40 on Sunday. RSU held Siauliai to an opponent 22.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Siauliai 51-30 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. RSU looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Siauliai's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when RSU made 7 blocks. Guard Enija Viksne (178-2004) fired 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Forward Luize Septe (180-1999, college: S.Florida) chipped in 8 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. Four RSU players scored in double figures. RSU's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Latvian forward Ruta Stipra (188-1994) produced 13 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Morgan Lenahan (180-1997, college: Midwestern St.) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for RSU. They maintain first place with 13-1 record. Loser Siauliai keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost.
