Second Stage Round 4: Samorin - Piestanske C. 34-112

An interesting game for Piestanske C. (5-0) which played road game in Samorin against 4th ranked Samorin (0-5). Top-ranked Piestanske C. had an easy win 112-34. Piestanske C. dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Samorin's 26. Piestanske C. forced 28 Samorin turnovers and outrebounded them 31-16 including 23 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by international center Alica Moravcikova (189-1994) who scored that evening 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international center Anna Jurcenkova (196-1985) supported her with 16 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Five Piestanske C. players scored in double figures. Even 9 points by the former international guard Timea Sujova (172-1984) did not help to save the game for Samorin. Naturalized Polish center Bianka Vaigl (180-1995) added 7 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Piestanske C. have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-0 record, which they share with Young Angels. Loser Samorin still closes the standings with five games lost. Piestanske C. will meet at home league's second-placed Slavia BB in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Samorin will play against MBK and hopes to get finally their first victory.
