Regular Season Round 21: M.Rehovot - H.Hevel Modi'in 79-84

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked H.Hevel Modi'in (5-17) defeated on the road 11th ranked M.Rehovot (7-14) 84-79 on Tuesday. H.Hevel Modi'in dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to M.Rehovot's 28. The best player for the winners was American point guard Keron DeShields (190-1992, college: Tennessee St.) who scored 25 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import center Michael Holyfield (211-1992, college: SHSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Four H.Hevel Modi'in players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Brandon Sherrod (198-1992, college: Yale) who recorded 18 points and 8 assists and naturalized American forward Josh Freund (204-1997, college: Roanoke) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively. H.Hevel Modi'in have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain thirteenth place with 5-17 record. M.Rehovot lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 14 games lost. H.Hevel Modi'in will meet at home higher ranked E.Netanya (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. M.Rehovot will play against M.Raanana (#7) and hope to secure a win.
