Regular Season Round 23: SMS PZKosz - Zgierz 59-84

There was a small surprise in Wladyslawowo where ninth ranked Zgierz (13-11) smashed 7th ranked SMS PZKosz (14-9) 84-59 on Wednesday. Zgierz forced 26 SMS PZKosz turnovers. It was a great evening for Ukrainian point guard Aleksander Szczerbatiuk (176-1996) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Naturalized British forward Sebastian Ferenc (206-1995, college: Missouri S&T) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Filip Kowalczyk (190-2006) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Mateusz Samiec (190-2005) scored 16 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zgierz have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Zgierz maintains ninth place with 13-11 record. SMS PZKosz lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Zgierz will meet at home Ogniwo Szcz. (#11) in the next round. SMS PZKosz will play against Notec Inowr. (#3) in Inowroclaw and hope to secure a win.
