Regular Season Round 23: LKS Lodz - GAK Gdynia 118-50

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Gdynia GAK (5-18) was outplayed on the road by first ranked LKS Lodz (23-1) 118-50 on Wednesday. LKS Lodz dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Gdynia GAK's 24. LKS Lodz forced 33 Gdynia GAK turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Gdynia GAK's players. It was a great evening for Bartosz Wrobel (190-1995) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points. Center Kuba Karwowski (218-1996, college: SHSU) helped adding 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five LKS Lodz players scored in double figures. Guard Alan Duda (186-2004) responded with 16 points and guard Kacper Wilk (188-2005) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. LKS Lodz have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 23-1 record. Newly promoted Gdynia GAK dropped to the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Czeladz and Legia 2. LKS Lodz will meet Gniezno (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gdynia GAK will play against Pabianice (#10) and hope to secure a win.
