Regular Season Round 19: Charilaos - Psychikou 76-64

There was a surprise result in Mesolongi where eleventh ranked Charilaos (9-9) beat higher ranked Psychikou (11-8) 76-64 on Wednesday. Point guard Nikos Houhoumis (186-1996) fired 26 points for the winners. American point guard TJ Washington (183-1998, college: Utah Valley) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Five Charilaos players scored in double figures. American point guard Ronaldo Segu (183-1999, college: Buffalo) produced 23 points (made all of his seven free throws) and point guard Georgios Koukas (179-1985) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Psychikou's coach Giorgos Remendelas tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Charilaos moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Megaridas. Loser Psychikou dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Iraklis. Charilaos will meet higher ranked Papagou (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Psychikou's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens AO Triton.
