Regular Season Round 24: Grodno - Tsmoki II 110-66

There was no surprise when 4th ranked Tsmoki II (8-14) was crushed on the road by second ranked Grodno (17-5) 110-66 on Saturday. Grodno dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Tsmoki II's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Tsmoki II's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Aliaksandr Pustahvar (201-1985) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Ilya Sharipov (198-1991) who added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five Grodno players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nazar Guliev (201-2002) with 19 points and Ivan Terehov (199-2003) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grodno have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-5 record having just two points less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk U20. Tsmoki II lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Impuls BGUIR. Grodno will meet at home league's leader Borisfen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsmoki II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Impuls BGUIR.
