Regular Season Round 27: WKK Wroclaw - Opole 83-82

A very close game took place in Wroclaw between WKK and AZS PO. Fourteenth ranked WKK (11-16) got a very close home victory over higher ranked AZS PO (15-12). WKK managed to escape with a 1-point win 83-82 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. WKK made 24-of-25 free shots (96.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Tomasz Ochonko (183-1986, agency: BIG) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Swingman Maksymilian Wilczek (197-2004) accounted for 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four WKK players scored in double figures. Power forward Michal Jodlowski (208-1998) came up with 13 points and 5 assists and point guard Jakub Kobel (190-1998) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for AZS PO in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. WKK maintains fourteenth place with 11-16 record. Loser AZS PO keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Koszalin. WKK will meet higher ranked Polonia (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS PO will play against SGH and hope to secure a win.
