Regular Season Round 17: Orka - Ragusa 48-106

Premijer Liga top team - Ragusa (15-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Orka (2-15) in Zagreb 106-48. Ragusa dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Orka's 32. Ragusa forced 28 Orka turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 39 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Orka's players. The former international forward Lea Hajdin (181-1998, agency: BIG) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Ella Majstorovic (172-2006) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four Ragusa players scored in double figures. Petra Ivkovic (-2002) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Nika Matekovic (174-2003) scored 12 points and 5 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-2 record. Orka lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Ragusa are looking forward to face Pula (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Orka will play against KAZL Split (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
