Regular Season Round 21: RSU - Liepaja/LSSS 68-60

The most interesting game of round 21 was a derby match between two teams from Latvia. The game took place in Riga where second ranked RSU won against visiting Liepaja/LSSS (10-8) 68-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Liepaja/LSSS. They outrebounded Liepaja/LSSS 46-31 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Evelina Otto (187-2006) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Luize Septe (180-1999, college: S.Florida) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian forward Paula Klescova (176-2001) who recorded 11 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and Latvian guard Raivita Korenika (181-2001) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. RSU maintains second place with 14-2 record behind leader Kibirkstis-MRU. Liepaja/LSSS at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. RSU are looking forward to face league's leader Kibirkstis-MRU in Vilnius in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Liepaja/LSSS will play on the road against the league's leader Kibirkstis-MRU (#1) in Vilnius and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
