Rather expected game in Katwijk where 5th ranked Binnenland (9-10) was crushed by second ranked Grasshoppers (16-4) 74-55 on Saturday. Grasshoppers dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Binnenland's 26. They outrebounded Binnenland 55-34 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Grasshoppers made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Alissa Van der Plas (180-2002) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Jacobine Klerkx chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four Grasshoppers players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Jamailah Adams (180-1993) produced 6 points and 15 rebounds and the former international Janine Guijt (173-1995, college: Regina) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Grasshoppers maintains second place with 16-4 record having just two point less than leader Den Helder.
