Thirteenth-ranked Azkoitia (7-15) gave a tough game to eighth ranked Al-Qazeres (12-10) in Caceres on Sunday. Al-Qazeres managed to secure only one-point victory 69-68. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Azkoitia. The best player for the winners was American guard Kate Andersen (175-1997, college: Portland) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Celia Garcia-Panuero (180-1995, college: UIW) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Portuguese forward Josephine Filipe (177-1995) who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Sara Iparragirre (173-1998) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Azkoitia players scored in double figures. Al-Qazeres moved-up to seventh place. Loser Azkoitia keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Melilla. Al-Qazeres will meet league's second-placed Zamarat in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Azkoitia will play against Paterna (#6) and hope to secure a win.
