There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Nardo (10-13) was edged at home by tenth ranked Ferrara (9-14) 93-91 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Latvian-American center Andrew Smith (205-1992, college: Liberty) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Andy Cleaves II (188-1996, college: CS Stanislaus, agency: Players Group) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian swingman Vojislav Stojanovic (199-1997) produced 22 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-1988) added 20 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferrara moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Chiusi. Loser Nardo keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Ferrara will meet higher ranked Fortitudo BO (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nardo will play against Rimini and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
