Regular Season Round 23: Wisla Krakow - Sleza 2 64-59

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Wisla Krakow (21-1) defeated at home 9th ranked Sleza 2 (7-14) 64-59 on Tuesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Wisla Krakow made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Sleza 2 turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Martyna Stasiuk (178-1989) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Martyna Jasiulewicz (173-1998) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Four Wisla Krakow players scored in double figures. Wisla Krakow's coach Michal Sumara used entire bench in such tough game. Forward Aleksandra Mielnicka (176-2004) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and Ukrainian Khrystyna Kulesha (185-2004) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Sleza 2 in the defeat. Wisla Krakow have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-1 record. Sleza 2 lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Wolomin. Wisla Krakow will meet Gorzow Wlkp. II (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sleza 2 will play against Widzew and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
