An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Stjarnan. Second ranked Stjarnan faced 4th placed KR. Host Stjarnan (16-3) smashed guests from Reykjavik (11-9) 84-61. The game without a history. Stjarnan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Stjarnan forced 19 KR turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Dilja Larusdottir (172-2003) who scored 29 points and 7 rebounds. American center Riley Popplewell (180-1997, college: USC Upstate) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Stjarnan players scored in double figures. American guard Violet Morrow (176-1997, college: EWU, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Hulda Bergsteinsdottir (180-1999) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stjarnan maintains second place with 16-3 record behind leader Thor AK. KR at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Stjarnan are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Breidablik B (#9) in Kopavogur in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KR's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Reykjavik to the arena Armann.
