Very predictable result in Tychy where fourth ranked GKS (19-9) defeated 16th ranked Polonia (8-20) 96-87. GKS had a 36-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Polonia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Karol Nowakowski (198-1999) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Maciej Koperski (190-1999) supported him with 18 points and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 26 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists by American guard Alphonso Willis (188-1998, college: A&M-Commerce) did not help to save the game for Polonia. Damian Szczepanik (198-1997) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Five GKS and four Polonia players scored in double figures. GKS maintains fourth position with 19-9 record. Newly promoted Polonia keeps the sixteenth place with 20 games lost. GKS will play against Enea Basket (#12) in Poznan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Polonia will play at home against Kociewskie Diably (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
