An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Celje. Second ranked Slovenian Celje faced 4th placed Bulgarian Montana. Host Celje (11-2) smashed guests from Montana (7-6) 99-59. The game without a history. Celje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Montana's 30. Celje forced 23 Montana turnovers and outrebounded them 40-24 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Montana's players. American Sara Loomis (188-1997, college: Ashland) fired 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Blaza Ceh (181-2003) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists. American Shereen Sutherland (188-1994, college: UC Irvine) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and center Aleksandra Nikolaeva Petrova (190-1998) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending Slovenian champion maintains second place with 11-2 record having just one point less than leader Buducnost. Newly promoted Montana keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Celje are looking forward to face Duga (#6) in Sabac in the next round. Montana will play at home against Vojvodina 021 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
