An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mahon. Third ranked Menorca faced 4th placed Benicarlo. Host Menorca (16-6) smashed guests from Castellon (14-7) 77-50. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Benicarlo. Menorca dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Benicarlo's 22. Bulgarian center Emil Stoilov (208-2002) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and swingman Alex Tamayo (197-2000) chipped in 14 points. Four Menorca players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Argentinian Fausto Ruesga (199-2000) with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Pedro Garcia (202-1998) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Menorca moved-up to second place. Loser Benicarlo dropped to the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Navarra and Zornotza. Menorca will meet Palma (#5) in the next round. Benicarlo will play against Alginet and hope to secure a win.
