Second Stage Round 4: LDP Donza - Giants B 95-73

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Giants B (2-1) in De Pinte on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by LDP Donza (2-0) 95-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Giants B. It was a key game for the top position in the league. LDP Donza dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Giants B's 32 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. LDP Donza forced 20 Giants B turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of center Rik Van den Berghe (206-1993) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds and Senne Geukens (193-1983) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. LDP Donza's coach Kenneth Desloovere felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Vince Van Cleemput (198-2002) responded with 16 points and Seppe Willems (202-1999) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. LDP Donza keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Lommel and Limburg B. Newly promoted Giants B keeps the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Kortrijk and Waregem. LDP Donza will meet Guco Lier (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Giants B will play against Royal Brussels and hope to secure a win.
