Regular Season Round 22: Xirdalan - Olimpic Sheki 100-77

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Xirdalan (13-7) crushed bottom-ranked Olimpic Sheki (2-18) in Baku 100-77 on Saturday. Xirdalan dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpic Sheki's 40. American players dominated also this game. Swingman Damon McDowell (193, college: NC-Wesleyan) notched 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and power forward Andrew Corum (201-1997, college: Virginia St.) supported him with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Xirdalan players scored in double figures. Even 31 points and 5 assists by point guard Larry Robinson III (182-1999, college: New Orleans) did not help to save the game for Olimpic Sheki. Power forward Davante Cooper (208-1994, college: WSU) added 17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Xirdalan have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Serhedci. Olimpic Sheki lost fifteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Xirdalan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Baku Zirve.
