Regular Season Round 25: Real Canoe - Estepona 63-68

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Madrid where 9th ranked Real Canoe (10-14) was defeated by tenth ranked Estepona (11-14) 68-63 on Saturday. Estepona forced 21 Real Canoe turnovers. Montenegrin center Ana Pocek (190-1993) stepped up and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Senegalese center Fatou Diagne (193-1996, college: Houston) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Estepona players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Macarena Roldan (174-1994) responded with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and center Irene Baeza (189-1993) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Estepona moved-up to ninth place. Real Canoe at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. Estepona will meet Adareva (#12) in the next round. Real Canoe will play against Ardoi in Zizur Mayor and hope to secure a win.
