Everything went according to plan in Riga where second ranked Latvian RSU (15-3) outscored 7th ranked Lithuanian LCC Tarp. (9-9) 73-53 on Saturday. RSU dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to LCC Tarp.'s 26. RSU forced 24 LCC Tarp. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Enija Viksne (178-2004) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 assists for the winners. Swingman Anita Mikelsone (178-2001) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four RSU players scored in double figures. RSU's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Laurita Jurciute (178-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Brazilian Maiara Pereira (185-2002, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points respectively for lost side. RSU maintains second position with 15-3 record having five points less than leader Kibirkstis-MRU. Loser LCC Tarp. dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. RSU will meet at home league's leader Kibirkstis-MRU in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. LCC Tarp. will have a break next round.
