Regular Season Round 22: Ragusa - Faenza 85-79

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Faenza (6-16) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Ragusa (12-10) 85-79 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Ragusa made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. American forward Keisha Hampton (185-1990, college: DePaul) fired 20 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) for the winners. The former international point guard Francesca Dotto (170-1993, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Nigerian forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah (188-1997, college: Northwestern) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and point guard Rosa Cupido (167-1992) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ragusa maintains sixth position with 12-10 record, which they share with Campobasso. Faenza lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Ragusa will meet league's second-placed Bologna on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Faenza will play against San Giovanni (#5) and hope to secure a win.
